Do You Need A Job?
For the last month on Facebook, I have been seeing several "friends" say "I need a job." The problem is... several of them are Avon representatives and they already have "a job, " so I guess they just are really NOT interested in making moneyAs the field trainer from Atlanta Georgia showed us in the D-1 Training Class, you could be making $11, 000 dollars a month... or more! Hang with me a moment and let's take a closer look at what an Avon "job" entails...Just like any other business owner, you are the boss, so you make the decisions on when and where and how much you work. No one tells you to clock in at a certain time or yells at you when you are late or want to go home early, or have to take a sick child to the doctor or when you ask for a raise. Those are all decisions YOU have to make. The more you put into a "job" the more you get out of it.Just like a car salesman or an insurance salesman, in Avon you are in DIRECT SALES and you work on a commission. Bottom line: You sell more '" You make more commission. To do this you must put out more effort... but YOU make more money!!!In Avon, there are several ways to make money, but the first way is by Direct Sales.Start out showing the brochures to your family and friends, then ask them to help you get more customers. You can sell by holding parties, fundraisers, fixing up baskets to sell as gifts, setting up on the side of the road... or your online web store. You can come up with a dozen or more ways of selling Avon '" we are talking "commission income" here! And the best part, you are not limited to just one way. You can sell any and all ways... you just can not sell on eBay.I don't sell Avon; I just pass out the brochuresYou want the bare-bones truth? I don't "sell" Avon. I just pass out brochures and flyers. But I take care of my customers. I tell them when something they normally use is on sale. I check as I put their order in to make sure I am getting them the best price. I give my regular personal delivery customers a 10% discount in both C25 and C26 every year... for a Christmas present. And I am always giving them samples, or a small gift, and I make sure they have ALL of the flyers, outlet books, &etc., we have BEFORE the campaign starts so they can shop all three campaign brochures and get the best price! In fact, I am so nice to them; they feel guilty for not ordering something every campaign. But... it is okay if they just don't have the money that campaign... I understand... and I still give them a new brochure and the flyers.Avon commission rateAs a new representative you will make up to 50% in commission on your sales. You are guaranteed a 40% earning rate on core products and a 20% earning rate on limited-earning items (those with a * next to the name) for the first four campaigns. After the first four campaigns, you will receive commission based on how big your sales; the rate chart is located in the back of the booklet you received in your appointment kit.Average dollar amount of customer ordersMost customers will order $15 or more each campaign. Ten customers will net you $150 in sales. If you sold all core products, you would have a 30% earning rate and you have made $45, less the cost of your brochures. If you had twenty customers, you would have sold $300 and your commission rate would be 35% for a total commission of $105, less your expenses. It is up to you, how many customers you have... you just have to FLASH that brochure and ASK for an order... just like all other direct salesman. If you need help in finding customers, click and read my WDYK article. What you make in commission is up to youMost of my customers orders about $25 per campaign, so for 10 customers that would give me $250 at 30% for a $75 commission less the cost of my expenses. But most of the time I have 25 customers: 25 X $25 = $625 in orders @ 40% earning rate gives me $250 for that 2 week campaign... so I have made $500 that month extra by my own efforts in "direct sales." And the best thing is... I only work a couple of hours one day a week. What if each two week campaign...YOU sold to 10 family & friends at $20 each = $200 in total salesYOU held one book or hostess party at $250 in total salesYOU visited 5 business and got $200 in total salesWOW... that is $650 in total sales. Your commission rate is now up to 40% for $260 commission if it was all core products. Realistically it will average more like 30% because of customers ordering those "limited-earning" items, but still $650x30%=$195. Not bad for maybe two... yes TWO days work. That is almost $100 a day! What if you worked 4 or 5 days a campaign? Or what if you worked... actually worked an 8 hour day, 5 days a week, a total of 10 days a campaign? You can... if you want. Some reps do.So you see... it is all up to you. You can make good money in "Direct Sales, " YOU just have to decide how much money you want and how hard you want to work to get it. If you worked for XYZ Insurance Agency... someone would be pushing you to sell... sell... sell! But in this case: you know you have that electric bill coming due, so you may want to push yourself to sell...sell... sell! It is all up to YOU.But really, which sounds the best to you: I work for somebody else. I have to punch a time clock. I get yelled at a lot for not making a quota OR I work for myself. I don't punch a time clock. I set my own quota. I decide how much money I want to make! BUT... that is just in DIRECT SALESMulti-level Marketing (MLM)Now... Let's talk about that $11, 000 a month I told you about. Direct Selling is only one way to make money in Avon. You can do Direct Sells AND Multi-Level Marketing.Multi-level marketing is also known as "leadership" in Avon.In MLM, you will also need to learn to educate yourself, be a self-starter, want to help other people, and be willing to duplicate what you do... but YOU have to do it first. If you don't do anything in Avon, but complain that you can not make any money in Avon, then you would not be good in leadership. You have to want to improve yourself, as well as help others improve their situation. In Avon leadership, you are required to sell a specific amount depending on YOUR level of participation, recruit a specific number of people into your first level of downline and train and help a minimum number of people to make money and to learn how to recruit and train their teams... and all of you together must reach a minimum sales goal.Leadership levelsUnit Leaders: $250 personal sales, 5 registered recruits, and $1, 200 in total unit salesAdvanced Unit Leader: $300 personal sales, 12 registered recruits with 2 Unit Leaders, and $4, 000 in total unit salesExecutive Unit Leader: $350 personal sales, 20 active recruits with 5 Unit Leaders including 1 recruit who is Advanced Unit Leader or above, and $15, 000 in total unit salesSenior Executive Unit Leader:$400 in personal sales, 20 registered recruits with 9 who are titled, 2 of whom are Executive Unit Leader or above.Note: these levels are due to be revised in 2011So... you see, you personally only have to sell $400 or less to reach the top level of Leadership. Set yourself a goal to sell $400 every campaign. 20 customers x $20 per order = $400. Did you know that if you sell $400 every campaign you will also make President's Club every year? PC members are guaranteed a 40/25% earning rate!!! Plus a whole lot of other benefits.Leadership BonusesOnce you have met the requirements for Unit Leader, you will start to receive bonuses based on the sales of each of your recruits. Based on your Leadership level and the total amount of your recruit's order, your bonuses may be from 3% to 12%.Each new recruit must have a minimum of $50 in customer sales their first campaign, then after their first campaign, you receive a bonus commission based on their sales... if their sales are over $100 for that campaign and you meet all the other above requirements.Helping other people make money helps you!So you see, it benefits you to encourage and help your recruits to make money selling Avon! These are on-going bonus commissions that YOU will receive as long as "the recruit is actively work and making money!"You help them and THEY make money and then YOU make money. You don't have to worry about being in competition with other cut-throat salesmen as there are enough customers to go around....because the Direct Sales business is not for everyone. If the NEW recruit has a $125 FIRST order or more, they may receive an additional prize based on what Avon is giving away that campaign. It all depends on the incentive going on during that campaign.Plus with the new Recruiting Program, you can make up to $150 per each new recruit you sign up and train and help make money in their first six campaigns. But you have to want to help other people make money. It is a Win-Winn situation for both of you!Bottom line figuresBack to the $11, 000 a month "just in leadership bonuses:"1 . In 2008, the average Unit Leader made about $1, 000 extra a year in leadership bonuses or about $85 extra a month, PLUS their sales commission, plus other prizes and recruiting bonuses!!! (In 2009, my 1099 tax form showed I had drawn a little over $5, 000 in leadership bonuses. This does not include what I made selling Avon.)2. In 2008, the average Advanced Unit Leader made about $6, 000 a year extra in leadership bonuses, or about $500 a month, PLUS their sales commission, plus other prizes and recruiting bonuses!!!3. In 2008, the average Executive Unit Leader made about $24, 000 a year extra in leadership bonuses, or about $2, 000 a month, PLUS their sales commission, plus other prizes and recruiting bonuses!!!4. In 2008, the average Senior Executive Unit Leader made about $110, 000 extra a year in leadership bonuses... about $10, 000 an extra a month, PLUS their sales commission, plus other prizes and recruiting bonuses!!!Still don't believe the potential is there to make $11, 000 a month in Avon?Google for Lisa M Wilber and read her story. She had it rough, rented old trailer with holes in the floor, lost her job.... until she started working her Avon. Now... well read it for yourself.Remember: she paid her $10 just like you and I. What you can do with that investment is up to YOU.Something else you need to know: Avon is not just for women. It is for anyone that wants to get into direct selling. Some of the best "Avon reps" are men. Several male reps are making a lot more money than I do. Also Avon is a great company for stay-at-home moms or retired people. One of my best team reps is 73-years-old and works her Avon one day a week. She averages an extra $250 per two week campaign. Not bad for an old lady living on Social Security! If you want need more information: call me... or email me... or text me... or facebook me...
